05-Feb-2021 | Andy Holland It’s been all hands on deck here at TORDFC HQ these past few months as we prepare for our first ever virtual convention, Holly Hop. Oh, how the time flies! It seems like only yesterday when one of us made a passing comment – “maybe we could do something online?” – and then all of a sudden, whoosh, here we are running around like headless chickens putting the final touches on what promises to be a fantastic weekend of Dwarven celebration. Over the last couple of months, we successively revealed that Holly Hop’s guest line-up comprises Chris Barrie (Arnold Rimmer), Robert Llewellyn (Kryten), Norman Lovett (Holly), Hattie Hayridge (Holly), Mac McDonald (Captain Hollister), Mark Dexter (Howard Rimmer) and Matthew Clark (Graphic Designer – Series XII & The Promised Land). Today, we are pleased to announce one more guest to this already pretty damn fine top-notch roster… Tony Hawks joins Holly Hop 2021’s guest line-up We are thrilled to announce that comedy legend and bestselling author Tony Hawks will be joining us at Holly Hop tomorrow for a live Q&A. Not only was Tony the warm-up comedian for the live studio audience during the early series, he also had numerous appearances between Series I and IV, including the ‘Better Than Life’ guide, the compere in ‘Backwards’, and an unforgettable Caligula in ‘Meltdown’. Tony completes our guest line-up, and joins an already jam-packed roster of smegginess. N.B. All guests appear subject to work commitments. One more lucky Dwarf fan joins table-read cast As previously revealed, Rob Grant has written a brand-new Red Dwarf story exclusively for Holly Hop. Through an audition process judged by Rob Grant, Ed Bye and Paul Jackson, four lucky smegheads were selected to take on the roles of Cat, Kryten, Lister and Rimmer in a live table-read of the script. Today, we can exclusively reveal that an additional fan has joined the cast in an unconfirmed role. 12-year-old Loïc Baucherel impressed the judges so much with his audition that he has been brought into the story as an additional character. Who will he be playing? Well our guess is as good as anyone’s, so we’ll just have to wait until Sunday’s live and exclusive table-read to find out.
