What is Dimension Jump? It’s a Series IV episode of Red Dwarf, yes, but Dimension Jump is also the best weekend on offer for any respectable Red Dwarf fan. Dimension Jump – or ‘DJ’ as it’s colloquially known – is the Red Dwarf convention organised by The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club (TORDFC) team. Dimension Jump occurs every year or two, starting on the Friday evening at around 6pm and running until around 5pm on Sunday. The weekend is filled with guest Q&As and insightful behind-the-scenes talks, autograph sessions, photoshoots, quizzes, competitions, cabaret, karaoke, a disco, and chance to buy exclusive merchandise. Put simply, it’s more fun than you can shake a pointy stick at! Each DJ, the Fan Club team invite as many guests as they can to give attendees the best experience possible. Past guests include all of the main cast – Chris Barrie (Rimmer), Craig Charles (Lister), Danny John-Jules (Cat), Robert Llewellyn (Kryten), Chloë Annett (Kochanski), Norman Lovett (Holly) and Hattie Hayridge (Holly) – as well as Red Dwarf’s co-creators Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. Our top-notch rosters have also featured a myriad of memorable guest stars and talented behind-the-scenes crew, including (but not limited to): Mac McDonald (Captain Hollister), Lee Cornes (Paranoia), John Lenehan (Series I’s Talkie Toaster), Gordon Kennedy (Hudzen), Rebecca Blackstone (Pree and Big Bang Beryl), Lucie Pohl (Harmony de Gauthier), Mark Dexter (Howard Rimmer), Suanne Braun (Cpt. Dorothy McCutcheon), Stephen Critchlow (Captain Herring), Ian Boldsworth (Steve), Tony Hawks (Caligula, Compere, Dispensing Machine, Suitcase, and The Guide), Tony Slattery (Brooke and Dispensing Machine), The Shend (Warden Knot), Simon Treves (Lecturer Rimmer), Sydney Stevenson (Professor Edgington), Richard O’Callaghan (The Creator and Hogey the Roguey), Graham McTavish (Warden ‘Nicey’ Ackerman), Steven Wickham (GELF Bride and Chief BEGG), Isla Ure (Dispensers 23 & 34), Johnny Vegas (Crit Cop), Ray Fearon (Rodon), Paul Jackson (Executive Producer), Ed Bye (Director), Howard Burden (Costume Designer), Mel Bibby (Production Designer, Series III-VIII), Paul Alexander (Writer), Mike Seymour (Visual Effects Supervisor), Paul McGuinness (Visual Effects Designer), Andrew Ellard (Script Editor and DVD Director/Producer), Joe Nazzaro (Author of “The Making of Red Dwarf”), Matthew Clark (Graphic Designer, Series XII and The Promised Land), and The Model Unit’s Mike Tucker, Alan Brannan, Pete Tyler, Alan ‘Rocky’ Marshall and Nick Kool. How do I know when the next DJ is? How do I book for DJ? How much is it going to cost? Which guests will be there? For answers to these questions and more, please visit our Dimension Jump website.
